Acknowledgments

The most frequently requested notarial act. The signer's identity is verified, and the notary attests that the signature was made knowingly and willingly. Required for deeds, mortgages, deeds of trust, and the majority of estate-planning documents.

— 02

Jurats

The notary administers an oath or affirmation, witnesses the signature, and attaches a certificate confirming that the contents have been sworn to as true. Required for affidavits, sworn statements, and court declarations.

— 03

Oaths & affirmations

Sworn statements administered orally, where no document is required. Commonly requested for new appointees to public office, witnesses, and certain financial and regulatory filings.

— 04

Certified copies

Permitted only for power-of-attorney documents under California law. Certified copies of birth certificates, passports, and court records must be obtained directly from the issuing governmental agency.

— 05

Loan signings

Conducted by an NNA-certified Loan Signing Agent. Coverage includes the complete closing package — refinance, purchase, HELOC, reverse mortgage, and loan modification — with documents returned via tracked overnight delivery to the title or escrow company.

After-hours & correctional facilities

Available in the evenings, on weekends, and at Los Angeles County correctional facilities (Twin Towers, Men's Central, Century Regional).
